Business Description

The Faraday Grid is our system architecture that delivers power from anywhere to anyone across the grid. It provides a common platform enabling a wide variety of technologies and solutions to connect and transact.
A Faraday Grid is made up of Faraday Exchangers: our ‘plug and play’ devices that dynamically balance and smooth power flowing across the energy system.
Unlike complicated and costly attempts to adjust generation and consumption in real time, a network of Exchangers rebalances power flows from within the grid itself.
The Faraday Grid is a quantum leap in the application of physics and economics to the energy system. An optimal design to enable more productive, resilient and safer electricity transfer.
The Faraday Grid provides the foundation for the Emergent Transactional Network.
Faraday Grid is a private, investor backed company based in Edinburgh, Scotland. In late 2016 our founders moved all the way from Australia to sunny Edinburgh with a prototype under our arms and the ambition to scoop up the best engineers, mathematicians, and physicists from Scotland’s world class academic heritage, to design and deliver the technology platform for the future energy ecosystem.
The electricity grid is the biggest human made machine in existence, and everything we
Our team has grown from the original founding engineer, economist, designer and accountant to include specialists in power engineering, AI, control systems, as well as supply chain, economics and communications.

Faraday Grid has announced that Adam Neumann, co-founder and CEO of WeWork, has made a £25m investment in the company.
The collaboration supports Faraday Grid’s ongoing global expansion, including in the UK, United States, Japan, Australia and Europe. It will also accelerate commercialisation of the company’s Faraday Exchanger technology with project partners worldwide.
The investment comes at a time of rapid expansion for Faraday Grid. In October 2018, the company announced it will be working with UK Power Networks in London, UK, to demonstrate the role and impact of Faraday Grid’s technology.
